TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central scored 38 runs Wednesday in sweeping a Big North Conference baseball doubleheader from Gaylord.
Jansen Shea pitched the Trojans (3-7, 2-4) to a 16-1 win in the opener. Cam Givens had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Ethan Pilarski also collected three hits. Adam Stepan scored three times.
Central won the nightcap 22-5 as Dylan Hayden registered the win. Pilarski, Cooper Marshall and Justyn Root all had four hits with Marshall driving in seven runs. Root crossed the plate four time, Pilarski three.
Central is at the Rockford Invitational on Saturday.

Frankfort rebounded with a nightcap win to split a non-conference doubleheader with Bellaire.
The Panthers won 18-9 after dropping the first contest 7-4.
Sam Tiesworth earned the win in relief, and Owen Stratton and Ken Frieswyk each had three hits, including a triple for Frieswyk. Nate Frieswyk and Will Wallace each had two hits.
Brennan Flynn had a double among three hits in the opener, while Stratton was 2-for-3 with a double.
Frankfort (10-3) travels Friday to Mesick.

The Traverse City Central junior varsity baseball team picked up its first wins of the year after posting a doubleheader sweep over Kingsley's varsity.
Winning pitchers for the Trojans (2-4) were Spencer Brown and Jon Laskey.
Josh Endres, Eddie Cater, Alex Conz and Charlie Kesner each had three hits over the two games for Central, which is playing in the Mason County Central Invitational Saturday.

Ryan Schiller tossed a three-hitter as Traverse City Central beat Manistee 11-3 in the nightcap of a non-league doubleheader.
Maddy Duensing and Mikhaila Shepler paced the Trojan attack with three hits.
Manistee won the opener 3-2.
Central (2-5) was coming off a Big North split on Tuesday, beating Gaylord 7-2 in the opener and dropping a 10-9 decision in 10 innings in game two.
