TRAVERSE CITY — The Lake Michigan Havoc topped the Traverse City Wolves 24-17 in Great Lakes Football League action Saturday night.
The Wolves scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull within a touchdown late.
Justin Mueller’s 24-yard TD run and Mueller’s ensuing two-point conversion run made it 18-11 with 6:30 to go.
The Havoc responded quickly with Jimal Valentine’s 61-yard TD run 22 ticks later, but the conversion failed.
Mason McGuff found Mueller open for a touchdown pass with 4:46 remaining to pull within the final score.
Lake Michigan outgains Traverse City 320-163, but the Wolves were able to force four turnovers.
Raudel Gomez had two sacks for Traverse City. Pablo Bacardo kicked a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Havoc quarterback Brandon Hurst threw for three touchdowns, two of which went to Elvis Osby.
The Wolves (0-2) travel to the West Michigan Tigers next Saturday.
