Former winners invited to take part in Honor Roll

TRAVERSE CITY — Calling all former winners in the Record-Eagle Honor Roll meet.

Officials are asking former winners, who will be attending Tuesday’s 40th annual event at Traverse City Central, to sign-in at the track building so they can be part of the awards presentations during the meet.

The Honor Roll starts at 4 p.m. with the girls pole vault. The first running race, the 3200 relay, starts at 5:30. That will be followed by the parade of schools and the national anthem. The high hurdles then begin at 6:15.

Once again a Memorial Cup will be presented to the boys and girls winners in the Ryan Shay 1,600. Last year’s winners were Kingsley’s Jake Keena (4:26.87) and St. Francis’ Holly Bullough (4:59.57).

Medals will be presented by former gold medalists at the conclusion of each event.
