“I can’t quite pinpoint what it was in the beginning,” West coach Lauran Pinto said. “It seems to be a general trend for us that once we start relaxing we play better. In the beginning we weren’t winning air balls as much as we normally do and Central was putting on high pressure and we let it kind of bring our game down a bit. Once we started seeing that we could score some goals, they started flowing a little better.”
Runa Hafnor, Mikaela Ray and Erica Whiting had the other goals for the Titans (12-1-1). Katie Placek and Ellie Taplin added assists.
Grace Stanton notched Central’s goal, with 7:51 to go in the first half, with an assist to Kalina Pfannenstiel that tied the score 1-1. The game stayed deadlocked until Jenner’s first score four minutes later.
