131s walk off at GVSU tourney

GRAND RAPIDS — The 15U 131s travel baseball team scored five runs in the last of the seventh to beat the 16U Michigan Starz 13-12 at the Great Lakes Classic in Grand Rapids.

Going to the plate down by four, they sent nine to bat in the inning when Cam Fewless delivered a game-winning line drive single with two outs.

Jake Penny, Eddie Davidson, Dan Ayling, and Jake Ryan all had two hits in the win.

Earlier in the tournament, Jared Jackson pitched the 131s to a 3-2 victory over the Ontario Diamondbacks. Ryan and Davidson each collected a double and two singles to lead the offense.

On Friday, the 131s played 16U Crystal Lake (IL) to a 6-6 tie. Jackson, Gabe Callery and Jordan Ruckle all RBI hits.

The 131s next travel to Ohio for the Midwest Elite Tournament at Bowling Green State University.
