Tackling TS outing June 28
From Staff Reports
TRAVERSE CITY — The eighth annual Tackling TS golf outing will be held Saturday, June 28, at Elmbrook Golf Course.
Traverse City West football coach Tim Wooer founded the event. His son, Tyler, was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis at the age of seven months. TSC is a genetic disorder where benign tumors attack internal organs. The TS golf event helps fund research and a summer camp for children afflicted with Tuberous Sclerosis.
The event has generated between $10,000-$20,000 each year. In addition to golf, there is a raffle and silent auction — U-M, MSU tickets, autographed memorabilia, hotel stays — that brings in money.
There will be 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. shotgun starts. The cost is $60 per golfer. The event includes a luncheon.
