CADILLAC — An impressive four-year run for Kalkaska's seniors came to an end on Tuesday with a 59-33 loss to Kingsford in the Class B regional semifinal at Cadillac.
Kingsford moves on to play Midland Bullock Creek on Thursday for the regional crown.
Over the last four years, Kalkaska has compiled an 87-11 record with three Lake Michigan Conference titles and four district championships. The Blazers finished this year 18-4.
"We had such little experience coming into this year, I couldn't be prouder," Kalkaska coach Dave Dalton said. "This is one of the most coachable groups I've ever coached. They achieved more than I could have expected."
Kingsford attacked from the start, putting a double-team on Kalkaska senior Kelli Guy. It was 33-10 at the half.
"They did a great job on Kelli and we just didn't handle their pressure," Dalton said.
Guy finished with 13 points and five steals while Elle Barber had eight points. Tabitha Kibby also had seven points.
Carlee Benzie led the Flivvers with 24 points.
In the first game of the regional, Midland Bullock Creek moved on with a 49-42 win over Ludington.
