Hudsonville edges Traverse City West

TRAVERSE CITY — Cody Stuive scored 21 of his game-high 25 points in the second half as Hudsonville edged Traverse City West 64-60 in a non-league basketball game Monday.

"He hit some unbelievably tough shots," Titans coach Brett Graham said of Stuive.

Hudsonville hit 17-of-18 free throws in a game that was in doubt late.

West (10-6) put three in double figures. Jeremiah Williams led the way with 18. Kendrick Meyer added 14 and Alex Scott 12. Meyer also had eight rebounds while Scott finished with four assists and two steals.

West returns to Big North action on Thursday, hosting Gaylord.

The Titans lost the JV game 46-39. Thyo Lukusa's nine points and six rebounds paced West (8-8). Jeff Turnquist and Sean Grabrowski added eight points.

Hudsonville won the freshman game 53-43. K.J. Sayer netted 18 and Sam Alexander 10 for the Titans (9-5).
