Prep Basketball Roundup: Glads survive in 2OT

HARBOR SPRINGS — St. Francis survived a scare Friday night.

The second-ranked Gladiators had to go double overtime before putting away Harbor Springs 95-87.

The game was tied 69-69 after regulation and 77-77 after the first overtime.

"We just kept the pressure on, kept attacking the basket," St. Francis coach Keith Haske said. "That's been a tough place for us to play. I'm proud of the kids for hanging in there."

Harbor Springs led 37-33 at half. The Rams were up five in the first overtime.

Kody Kleinrichert led the Gladiators (15-0, 10-0) with 31 points and eight rebounds. Byron Bullough added 17 points, Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi 14, Connor Archer 13 and Austin Currie 12.

Spencer Kloss tossed in 24 points for the Rams. Neal Zoerhoef added 13.

St. Francis hosts Grayling on Tuesday.


Petoskey      54 TC West      52

Traverse City West had a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it was off the mark and Petoskey was able to come away with a 54-52 Big North Conference win.

Erik Davenport led the Northmen with 19 points, Joe LeBlanc added 12 and Quinn Ameel 10.

The Titans (10-5, 7-3 BNC) were led by Alex Scott (16 points), Kendrick Meyer (13 points, six rebounds), Jeremiah Williams (eight points, four rebounds) and Nate Castor (seven points).

West hosts Hudsonville on Monday and Gaylord on Thursday.

The Titans won the JV game 59-52 behind 15 points from Wes Talbot and six points and 12 rebounds from Thyon Lukusa. The JV team is 8-7 overall, 5-5 in the league.

Charlevoix      46 Elk Rapids      38

Tanner Catt and Zach Hankins scored a dozen points each to lead Charlevoix to a 46-38 Lake Michigan Conference win over Elk Rapids.

Devantae Drain added 10 for the Rayders (10-2, 8-1).

Cole Walker paced the Elks (8-7, 5-5 LMC) with 14 points and eight rebounds and Shae Somers had 11 points. Elk Rapids hosts Boyne City on Tuesday.

Boyne City     63 East Jordan     43

Corey Redman scored a game-high 28 points and pulled down nine rebounds as Boyne City defeated East Jordan 63-43 in a Lake Michigan Conference game.

Brad Fouchia added 16 points and nine assists and Maceo Vroman 10 points for the Ramblers (7-7), who led 32-22 at half.

Jordan Weber knocked down 10 for East Jordan (3-10), which plays Charlevoix on Tuesday.
