FRANKFORT — Glen Lake clinched the outright Northwest Conference title with a 15-12 victory Friday over Frankfort.

The Lakers (7-0, 5-0 NWC) took a 15-0 lead into the fourth quarter before Frankfort mounted a comeback bid.

Dan Loney tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Connor Bradley and Loney ran for a 15-yard TD to cut the lead to three with 1:48 left. The Panthers tried an on-side kick, but it was recovered by the Lakers' Mike O'Brien.

Glen Lake went up on a Trevor Apsey 38-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to lead 6-0 at halftime.

Logan LaCross tackled Loney in the end zone for a safety and Carter Lee ran for a 7-yard TD for a 15-0 lead with 6:42 left in the third.

If the Panthers (3-4) had won, it would have kept hopes alive for Kingsley, which defeated Benzie Central.

"We're 3-4 and could be 6-1 if we could pull these close ones out," Frankfort coach Matt Stapleton said.

Lee led the Lakers with 92 rushing yards, with Apsey adding 60. On defense, Elliott Bregni led the way with 11 tackles, Apsey 10 and O'Brien eight.

O'Brien, Dale Pleva, Nick Schweikart and Curtis Bunek recovered fumbles.

Loney ran for 76 yards and threw for 135 on 10 of 19 passing. Nolan Nye caught four passes for 54 yards and Bradley had four receptions for 52 yards.

Mike Smith and Kyle Jensen paced Frankfort with six tackles each, while Tony Evans and David Cunningham had five each and Cunningham recovered a fumble.
