TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central closed out the dual meet portion of its schedule Thursday with a 7-1 tennis win over Petoskey.
The Trojans, ranked No. 7 in Division 1, picked up wins from Skylar Norgaard (6-2, 1-6, 6-0), Cam Young (6-2, 6-0), Nick Yergens (6-2, 6-2), Hayden Drury-Caleb Heimburger (6-2, 6-2), Yani Beeker-Parker Berden (6-0, 6-4), Jack Seymour-Austin Wieland (6-1, 6-1) and Michael Meindertsma-Spencer Kroupa (6-4, 6-2).
Petoskey’s win came from Connor Allen (6-4, 6-1).
Beeker and Berden improved to 25-3, Drury-Heimburger to 25-4, Seymour-Wieland and Yergens to 24-4.
Central competes at East Lansing on Saturday.

Traverse City Central Black won an abbreviated five flight match with Petoskey, 5-0.
Victorious for the Trojans: Ron Dohm (6-0, 6-1), Ben Grams (6-0, 6-1), R.J. Fenton-Carl Rasmussen (6-2, 6-1), Nate Michno-Luke Smith (6-3, 6-1) and Jack McKay-Luke Fagerstrom (6-3, 6-1).

Traverse City Central Gold won four singles flights in beating Elk Rapids 5-3.
Victorious for the Trojans: Chase Knoblock (6-2, 6-1), Nick Friedli (7-6, 6-2), John Wood (6-4, 7-5), Connor Voss (6-1, 6-2) and Joe Videki-Gary Koepfer (6-0, 6-1).
Winning for Elk Rapids: A.J. Anderson-Max Douglas (6-4, 6-2), Jesse Way-Cole Powers (6-4, 6-2) and Mike Pearson (4-6, 6-4, 10-3).
TC Christian 2
Jacob Rorick and Kevin Mannes netted goals as Traverse City Christian defeated Grayling 2-0.
Cam Beemer drew the assist on the Rorick goal. The Sabres outshot Grayling 10-1. David Bump was in goal.
Christian (8-7) hosts Suttons Bay today.

Benzie Central 1
Logan Mikesell scored two goals to power Suttons Bay to a 2-1 win over Benzie Central.
One of Mikesell’s goals was unassisted. Chris Jasinski assisted on the other for the Norse (6-4-4, 4-1-1), who play at Traverse City Christian today. The two teams have already played two 0-0 deadlocks.
Alfonso Gomez scored for Benzie.
Dustin Tandy and Demian Allen scored goals to propel Buckley to a 2-0 soccer win over Northport.
Jake Burgess assisted on Tandy’s tally. Allen’s goal was unassisted. Tyler Welch had three saves in goal for the Bears (6-3-2), who host Glen Lake on Tuesday.

Tony Mosqueda scored two goals and assisted on two others as Leland blanked Glen Lake 7-0.
The Comets (12-2, 6-0) outshot the Lakers 23-4. They led 3-0 at half.
Mikey Osorio, Noah Fetterolf, Collin Platts, Gunnar Carlson and Austin Fellows also tallied. Cam Stowe drew two assists.
The Comets are at Elk Rapids on Saturday.

Elk Rapids improved to 6-0 in Lake Michigan Conference play with a 4-0 whitewash of Boyne City.
Garrett Koss netted two of the Elks goals. Eliot Huggins chipped in a goal and an assist. Huggins had the first score of the night. Brian Johnson netted the other goal.
Jackson Waugh and Tommy Wirtz split goaltending duties for the Elks (8-7-2).
Burt Lake NMCA 5
Jeff Thompson scored four goals as Burt Lake NMCA defeated Kingsley 5-3.
Patrick Acre had a goal and two assists for the Stags. Jake King added a goal and an assist and Justin Ginzel a goal.
TC Christian 0
Leland, preparing for a big Northwest Conference showdown with Kingsley next Tuesday, defeated Traverse City Christian 25-19, 25-17, 25-8.
The Comets, 3-0 in the Northwest, were led by Noa Yaakoby (11 kills, three aces, five digs), Felicia Whittaker (four kills, six aces, one block), Maddie Trumbull (six kills), Caitlin McKee (24 assists, three digs) and Miranda Harrison (seven digs).
Benzie Central goes 2-1 in quad
Benzie Central finished 2-1 in a quad with Lake City, Mesick and Manistee.
The Huskies lost to Lake City (24-26, 25-14, 14-16) and then beat Mesick (26-24, 25-19) and Manistee (25-17, 25-23).
Benzie (7-21-5) was paced by Molly Lehn (43 assists, five kills, seven aces, 20 digs), Autumn Hagelstein (20 kills, 15 digs, 10 aces, seven blocks), Manon Lutzke (11 kills, nine digs), Kristine Robertson and Kayla Francis (seven kills), Kelsey Judge and Tayler Price (10 digs) and Sarah Stolz (seven digs).

Elk Rapids swept Glen Lake 27-25, 25-20, 25-8.
The Elks were led by Megan Henige (seven kills), Bridget Hintz (seven kills) and Alyson Schell (six aces).
Elk Rapids (7-16-1) faces Grayling on Tuesday.

Boyne City JV 0
Jake Klingelsmith and Sam Shrift each had two rushing touchdowns as the St. Francis JV beat Boyne City 40-0.
Klingelsmith scored on runs of 10 and 4 yards, Shrift on runs of 8 and 27 yards.
Chris Kolarevic added a 5-yard touchdown run, a score he set up by returning an interception 70 yards. Sam Ludka closed out the scoring with a 4-yard run.
Tyler Picardat, Dominic Hathaway and Matt Biggar led the Gladiators (4-1) defense.

Gaylord JV 12
Traverse City Central received two touchdowns each from Mason Houston and Devontae Walker as the Trojan junior varsity won its first game of the season, 36-12 over Gaylord.
Reagan Cotton also threw a touchdown pass for Central (1-4), hooking up with Griffin Cencer.
Nik Norton led the defense with 15 tackles and Zach Mayo had a dozen stops.

Alpena JV 0
Dan Phifer scored three touchdowns as Traverse City West blanked Alpena 57-0 in junior varsity football action.
Sam Jacob added two TDs and Tyler Cypher and Joey Leal each added one and Logan Pawloski caught a TD pass from Zach Zoutendam.
Trevor Goudey, Jack Mikula and Taylor McWethy led the defense for the Titans (3-2).
TC Central frosh 30
James Brumfield caught two touchdown passes and returned a kick for a third score as the Traverse City Central freshmen defeated Gaylord 30-18.
Both scoring passes came from Zach Girard-Pampu. Abe Russell added the fourth score on a rushing TD.
Brumfield, Shaka Kirksey and Jordan Russell all had interceptions for the Trojans (2-2-1). Nick Ellul recovered a fumble.
Bellaire Harvest Festival 5K set for Saturday
BELLAIRE — The second annual Bellaire Harvest Festival 5K run/walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Registration for the timed race opens at 8 a.m. at the Bellaire Rotary Soccer Park. The start line is at the park, with the finish in downtown Bellaire. The entry fee is $20. There is a family rate of $20 for the first two, then $10 for each additional family member. All proceeds benefit Bellaire cross country, a self-funded club program.
