CLARE — Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian made it look easy.
The Eagles cruised to their second straight Northern Michigan Soccer League championship with a 9-1 victory over Clare in the conference title game.
Burt Lake was up 7-0 at halftime, and ended up improving their record to 21-0 heading into districts.
Aaron and Paul Chatfield each had two goals and an assist, while Stephen Thompson added a goal and two assists. Polyos Kulvichien had a goal and an assist, and Jake Lovitt, Robert Taylor and Matthew Guimaraes had goals. Marco Patz notched one assist.
Johnny Brownfield, Wil Lovitt and Andrew Vandeyacht led the Eagles' defense, which allowed just its eighth goal this season.
NMCA hosts the winner of Harbor Light and Whittemore-Prescott on Wednesday to open up district play.

Ogemaw Heights 2
With two goals and two assists, Keanen Armour won the Big North Conference scoring race in a 10-2 win over Ogemaw Heights.
Trevor Osburn and Adam Stepan each had a hat trick for the Trojans (10-8-4, 9-1-2). Osburn's first goal gave him 50 for his career.
Jordan Moore had two goals, Sem Novikov had a goal and an assist and Brandon Busuttil also scored. Matt Westerman and Colin Lesoski each had two assists.
In the JV match, TC Central finished the season with a 12-4-2 record with an 8-0 win. Matt Grost and Josh Belcher each scored twice while Jack Dulude, Jean-Claude Jephte and Danny Brott all scored.
McBain NMC 1
Bellaire ended the regular season with a 3-1 win over McBain NMC.
Andreas Schobel scored all three goals for the Eagles (15-4, 10-2 NMSL) while Hunter Rowe had an assist. Adam Underwood recorded 14 saves.
Bellaire hosts Charlevoix on Monday in the district opener.

Traverse City Christian will go into districts just like they go into most games this season -- on a winning note.
The Sabres shut out Reed City 5-0 to enter the postseason with a 17-1-1 mark.
Ian Spencer had a goal and two assists -- setting up first-half goals by Mckenzie Domine and Andrew Bump that had TC Christian up 2-0 at the half.
Domine scored again to open up the second-half, scoring off a Paul Bump assist. Ian Spencer struck off a Spencer set up and Kevin Mannes scored with an assist from Brad Benson.
David Bump posted his ninth shutout in goal.
The Sabres play district host Glen Lake on Monday.

Elk Rapids received its Lake Michigan Conference championship trophy and then an 8-0 victory over Harbor Springs.
The Elks clinched the LMC title Wednesday night with another 8-0 win, that one against Kalkaska.
On Thursday, Zach Vandeveer scored his second straight hat trick.
Mack Wolfgram added two goals, Kam Johnson had a goal and an assist and Chance Dittrich and Mitch Gribi added goals. Spencer Impellizzeri assisted on two goals and Andrew Selvy and Austin McMullen on one each. Tim Barber and Gribi split time in net.
Elk Rapids (14-2-4, 10-0 LMC) plays district host Kalkaska to open the postseason Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Elks would host Boyne City on Tuesday if they advance.

Charlevoix improved to 9-1 in Lake Michigan Conference play with a straight games win over East Jordan.
The Rayders (39-4-6, 9-1) host a tri meet Monday with Harbor Springs and Traverse City St. Francis.
On Thursday, Charlevoix was led by Jenna Way (24 assists, seven kills, 10 digs, four aces), Karley Pearsall (nine kills, three blocks), Megan Peters (six kills, two blocks), Maddy Voss (six kills), Kelly Greyerbiehl (12 digs), Kelsey Way (10 digs) and Maddy Zimmerman (seven digs, two aces).
Leland wins tri-meet with Northport, GTA
Leland posted wins over Northport and GT Academy in a tri-meet.
The Comets beat the Wildcats 25-9, 25-13 and the Mustangs 25-18, 25-12. GT Academy beat Northport 13-25, 25-20, 15-11.
Leland (35-11) had 10 kills, seven aces and eight digs from Tantzi Snyder, eight kills and 11 digs from Elizabeth McKee, seven kills and two blocks from Andrea Hunt, 33 assists and four aces from Hanna Schaub and 15 digs from Maggie Osorio.
GT Academy had three kills and two digs from Brooke Olesnavage, five kills from Hannah Sivek and seven assists from Amelia Peck.
Kingsley sweeps tri with Manton, Manistee
Kingsley beat Manton 25-15, 25-17 and then finished off the tri-meet with a 25-13, 25-17 win over Manistee.
It was senior night for the Stags (36-7-3), who honored Emily Fasel, Anne-Marie Sanchez, Bronte Hart and Brittany Nickerson. Fasel had six kills, 10 aces and 11 digs, Sanchez had 21 assists and nine aces, Hart had six digs a block and 3-for-4 serving while Nickerson was 9-for-10 serving with four digs.
Also, Katie Travis had nine kills and two blocks while Andrea Lee had five kills and two blocks.

TC Christian came back for a 19-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 win over Glen Lake.
The Sabres (17-18-6) had 19 kills and three aces from Callie Kostrzewa, 11 kills, nine aces and three gigs from Nicole Shanoski, four kills from Laura Murray and 38 assists from Abby Voorheis.

The St. Francis JV beat Grayling 24-26, 25-16, 25-12 to stay perfect in the league. Hannah Mead, Molly Callery and Steph Fiebing led the way for the Glads (16-5-1).

Parker Gus threw for two touchdowns as Traverse City St. Francis downed Harbor Springs 55-0 in a junior varsity football game.
The Gladiators led 30-0 after the first quarter.
Ben Jamieson started things off with a 2-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion before Gus completed a 48-yard TD pass to Matt Seybert.
Lance Anderson hit paydirt on a 5-yard TD run and Gus connected with Joe Summers on a 35-yard score to lead 30-0.
Anderson, Jamieson and Jack Puetz added second-quarter rushing TDs (from 18, 27 and 7 yards out) and Tyler Waslawski kicked an extra point for a 49-0 halftime bulge.
Mike Marsh busted loose for a 63-yard touchdown on the first play of the second half.
Marsh, Austin Lynch, Brandon Morse and Ryan Armour led the TCSF defense. The Glads (6-1-1) face 8-0 Grayling next Friday prior to the varsity matchup.

Traverse City West tied Ogemaw Heights 20-20 in junior varsity action.
Bryce Harner, Geordan Carter and Noah Malaski scored touchdown runs of 7, 4 and 60 yards for the Titans (5-2-1). Quincy Rowan, Nate Rogers and Malaski led the West defense.

Traverse City Central scored a pair of special teams touchdowns in a 41-0 JV win over Gaylord.
Zac Egbert struck on a 60-yard punt return and Eston Prather blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown.
On offense, the Trojans (5-3) had two TD runs by Sean Williams (10 and 4 yards), a 35-yard run by Nate Schlusler and a 30-yard scamper by Josiah Lopez-Wild.
Joe Schepperly added three extra points and A.J. Mackie had a two-point conversion. On defense, Kris Konstanzer had an interception and Tanner Kenney had five tackles and two sacks.

Gaylord frosh 20
Traverse City Central's freshmen finished a perfect Big North Conference season with a 21-20 win over Gaylord.
The Trojans (7-1) had two touchdowns from Ethan Campbell while Anthony Kratovil added another score. Matt Pupel kicked three extra points.
TC Central led 21-20 when Gaylord drove the field and attempted a short field goal with 3 seconds left. Daniel Youker blocked the attempt to preserve the win.
Pupel, Alex Liggett and Kyle Perrin also stood out on defense.
