West’s Priante headed to regionals

GRAND HAVEN — Traverse City West freshman Vincent Priante qualified for regionals, notching his 40th win of the season in the process in Division 1 districts at Grand Haven.

Priante was 3-1 on the day to place third in the 103-pound weight class. He's 40-8 on the season and is headed to next weekend's individual regionals at Grandville.

Fellow Titan Caleb Kase scored one of the day's bigger upsets, pinning No. 1-seeded Tyler Sisco of Grandville in the second period to knock Sisco out of the individual tournament. Kase wasn't able to advance out of the 140-pound bracket, though, going 1-2 to end the season with 25 wins.

Jonah Jasman (119) picked up a win at 119 to finish the season with 32 wins, and James Peck's win at 215 was his 30th of the season.

Regionals are Saturday at Grandville.
