Prep Sports Roundup: Titan golfers 3rd

ANN ARBOR — Traverse City West’s Alex Scott shot a 76 to tie for third at a golf tournament in Saline.

West took third in the team standings with a 328. Muskegon Mona Shores won the event with a 312.

Besides Scott, Matt Orwig fired an 82, Joey Hunter 83 and Keits Shoemaker 87 for the Titans.

West had a second team compete as well and that group came in at 402. Seth Perrin led the way with a 92. He was followed by Jacob Martin at 93, Sammy Schriber 96 and Sawyer Robinson 121.


Charlevoix 8

Boyne City 0

Junior midfielder Leah Davis and freshman forward Julia Doskoch each scored three goals as Charlevoix downed Boyne City 8-0 in a Lake Michigan Conference soccer game.

It was 5-0 at half.

Sophomore forward Kelsey Engstrom added two goals while junior midfielder Elizabeth Way picked up three assists. Charlevoix (2-1) keeper Gloria Greene earned her second shutout of the year.

Harbor Springs 5

Grayling 0

Harbor Springs defeated Grayling 5-0 in a Lake Michigan Conference soccer match.

Laura Simpson had 16 saves in goal for Grayling (0-3).
