Hounds rally to beat Blaze

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Traverse City trailed 2-0 in the first period before rallying for a 3-2 Midwest Junior Hockey League victory over Bloomington.

The Jr. Blaze led on goals by Duncan Irvine and Joey Skelton in the first 15 minutes.

The Hounds (9-1-0-2) halved Bloomington’s lead on a Patrick Rogowski goal set up by Jake Gillis with 47 ticks remaining in the first.

In the third period, Zach Early knotted the game up with a score assisted by Scott Luca, and Rogowski put the Hounds up with his second goal of the game, set up by Luca and Kenny Simmons.

Traverse City goaltender David Krejcik made 16 saves to earn the win. Bloomington (2-5-0-0) goalie Cam Lerner finished with 38 saves.

The two teams play again today at 2 p.m.
