Seven TC West football players suspended

TRAVERSE CITY — Multiple Traverse City West football players have been suspended for today’s playoff game against Rockford.

The Record-Eagle learned seven players have been suspended, including three starters on offense. Titans athletic director Patti Tibaldi wouldn’t disclose the identities of the players.

“We protect student confidentiality, like they do everywhere,” Tibaldi said. “We have some suspensions due to violation of team rules. ... It is partially based on coach’s decision and the student handbook.”

“We have high expectations of our players and if they step outside of these boundaries, they will be disciplined,” West head coach Tim Wooer said. “We will embrace the great people we have in our program, focus on the positives and move forward against Rockford.”
