TC hounds beat Ice Dogs

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Hounds scored seven third-period goals to ring up an 8-0 Midwest Junior Hockey League victory over the Michigan Ice Dogs.

Those seven goals came from seven different players.

Leading 3-0 after third-period goals by Jacob Gillis and Austin Flores, the Hounds scored on five consecutive power plays to put the game away. Patrick Rogowski, Garrett Cebalt, Clayton Dowlan, Dalton Gertsen and Nathan Nelson each struck with the man advantage. Michigan was 0 for 4 on the power play.

John Posler stopped all 25 shots the Ice Dogs directed at him to give the Traverse City resident two wins in as many starts.

Gillis scored in the second period for TC's other goal. Jordan Ruterbusch had three assists.

The two teams tangle again at Centre ICE tonight at 7 p.m.
