BATTLE CREEK — Cadillac is trying to get to the volleyball state championship match for the first time in school history, while Leland is after double-digits.
While the Vikings are aiming for their first, the Comets are seeking their 10th state finals berth. Leland has won four state titles, most recently in 2006.
First, the Comets will have to get by No. 2-ranked Waterford Our Lady today at 2 p.m. in Battle Creek’s Kellogg Arena.
Waterford Our Lady has won all five of its postseason matches in straight games. No. 6 Leland has won three of its five 3-0 and two 3-1, but one of those was Tuesday’s upset of No. 4 Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in Evart.
Cadillac, ranked No. 7, takes on No. 5 Grand Rapids South Christian at 5 p.m. Friday.
