— One area boys soccer team is moving on to play for the state championship, but two others saw their seasons end Wednesday night.
Petoskey won its Division 2 state semifinal match with Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood, 3-1. They next play Hudsonville Unity Christian for the state crown on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m. in East Kentwood.
Elk Rapids (Division 3) and Leland (Division 4) both lost their semifinal games Wednesday night. The Elks fell 2-1 in a shootout to Williamston, while the Comets lost 2-0 to Grand Rapids Covenant Christian.
