FINAL: TC Central 34, Lapeer East 14

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central Trojans got back to .500 with a convincing 34-14 win over the Lapeer East Eagles tonight at Thirlby Field.

The two teams went into the break tied at 7-7 after a first half filled with penalties and fumbles for both sides. Central went up 14-7 on the first drive of the second half on a 26-yard touchdown run by Joe Schepperly. A Jake Gorter 26-yard field goal later in the third quarter extended the Trojans' lead.

After a Lapeer touchdown in the fourth quarter, Central answered with an Ethan Campbell two-yard touchdown run, which was set up by an Anthony Kratovil 92-yard kickoff return, before an Austin Podsaid interception set up a 14-yard touchdown pass from Sean Williams to Schepperly. Gorter added another field goal afterward.

The Trojans (2-2) next will host Gaylord (0-3) in a matchup of Big North Conference foes.
