FARMINGTON HILLS — Bryce Goulah stopped 18 shots in his debut as the Traverse City Hounds beat the Michigan Ice Dogs 6-0 Saturday afternoon at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
Kevin Miloser scored two goals while Alex Grizzel had a goal and two assists and Jacob Gillis a goal and an assist.
Bobby Schumacher and Scott Luca also scored. Tyler Thirlby picked up a pair of assists.
The two teams finish up a three-game weekend series today.
Three TC West wrestlers go 5-0
Three Traverse City West wrestlers finished 5-0 Saturday in the Saginaw Heritage Invitational.
As a team, the Titans went 3-2. They beat Pontiac Notre Dame 59-21, Ogemaw Heights 40-39 and Midland 44-27. West fell to Flushing 46-31 and Heritage 42-28.
Corey Johansen at 103, Jonah Jasmine at 125 and James Peck at 215 all went 5-0 on the day. Among Peck’s wins: An 8-0 triumph over previously unbeaten Anthony White of Heritage.
Vincent Priante went 4-1 at 112. Picking up three wins were Drew Hammer at 130, Drew Daenzer at 145 and Zack Provost at 171. Mike Lambert at 145 and Gabe Jasmine at 160 registered two wins.
West faces Ogemaw Heights and Gaylord in a Big North Conference opener Wednesday at Ogemaw Heights.
Kingsley takes 3rd at Orchard View
Kingsley finished third in the 10-team Muskegon Orchard View Invitational.
The Stags had four wrestlers place third — Max Denny at 112, Tyler Slater at 119, Brian Lark at 171 and Nick Ames at 189. Taking fourth were Dave Bruner at 103, Cody Fryhover at 135 and Chase Gaca at 285. Julian Tompkins and Levi Warren were fifth at 125 and 152, respectively.
Elliott, Leffingwell finish 5-0 at Pine River
Forest Area’s Matt Elliott and Tyler Leffingwell finished 5-0 at 130 and 135 in the Pine River Invitational.
The Warriors went 1-4 as a team. They beat Traverse City Central 45-24 and lost to Pine River 54-16, Cedar Springs 42-23, St. Francis 28-25 and Godwin Heights 44-33.
Going 4-1 on the day for Forest Area were Brandon Ames at 189 and Mike White at 215. Landon Elliott at 119, Dion Burke at 160 and Chris Schelske all posted 3-2 marks. Reese Velfling was 2-3 at 285.
