Sportsmen’s banquet set for March 1

BELLAIRE — The 7th annual Outdoor Sportsmen’s Banquet will be held Saturday, March 1 at Shanty Creek.

The banquet gets underway at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 a person. The event, put together by the Sportsmen’s Committee of Eastport Baptist Church, will feature a Seared Salmon or Roasted Chicken dinner, a national speaker, vendors and 100 other drawings.

Little League registration underway

TRAVERSE CITY — Registration is underway for the Traverse City Little League.

Registration is open for kids 5-14 as of April 30. Registration is available online at www.traversecitylittleleague.com. Deadline for early registration is March 1. Just under 700 kids played last year.

TC baseball camp Saturday

TRAVERSE CITY — A baseball camp will be held at Traverse City Central on Saturday and on March 15.

The camp, for those in grades 2-6, will cover all aspects of the game — pitching, catching, hitting and fielding.

Chezik fourth in Anchorage race

TRAVERSE CITY — Fife Lake’s Ken Chezik placed fourth in the adult 10-dog speed class at the Raven Electric Ten Dog Championship sled race Sunday in Anchorage, Alaska.

Chezik finished the 30-mile course in 1:32:55.
