Prep Basketball Roundup: Crosby nets 37 in Sabres win

TRAVERSE CITY — Kris Crosby’s 37 points and 14 rebounds powered Traverse City Christian to a 71-58 non-league basketball win over Suttons Bay.

The Sabres led 30-19 at half.

Ben Larkins added 17 points and David Bump five assists for Christian (7-5), which hosts Leland tonight.

Logan Mikesell led Suttons Bay (11-4) with 24 points.

The Norsemen travel to Benzie on Wednesday.

 

St. Francis 78

Benzie Central 53

Three in a row for the St. Francis Gladiators.

Tanner Kenny led a balanced attack with 15 points and 12 rebounds as St. Francis beat Benzie Central 78-53 in a non-league contest.

Byron Bullough added 14 points and five steals, Noah Phillips 12 points and nine rebounds and Matt Seybert 10 points and seven rebounds.

Ismael Halaweh paced Benzie with 20 points. Javier Rodriquez contributed 15.

Benzie won the JV game 76-46.

St. Francis hosts East Jordan tonight.

 

Grand Haven 53

TC Central 34

Grand Haven pulled away in the third quarter for a 53-34 non-league win over Traverse City Central.

The Bucs, up six at half, outscored the Trojans 21-7 in the third quarter.

Max Knoblock led Central (4-11) with nine points.

Grand Haven won the JV game 80-36. James Brumfield scored 15 and Magnus Carlson 10 for the Trojans.

Grand Haven won the freshman game 37-33. Nik Norton’s 12 points topped Central, which hosts Gaylord on Wednesday.

 

Kingsley 63

Glen Lake 45

Kingsley, which lost by 11 at Glen Lake last Wednesday, turned the tables, beating the Lakers 63-45 in a Northwest Conference contest.

The Stags, who have won four of their last six, are now 7-7 overall and 5-4 in the league.

Jarid Lueck’s 14 points and 11 rebounds paced Kingsley, which led 32-20 at half. Stacy Almquist added 10 points and three assists.

Carter Lee’s 10 points led Glen Lake.

The Stags play Cadillac tonight.

Manistee 45

Frankfort’s 72-45 non-conference win over Manistee leads the Panthers into Friday’s Northwest Conference showdown, hosting Suttons Bay with first place on the line.
