Big boat sailing offered

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse Area Community Sailing (TACS) and Bay Breeze Yacht Charters have formed a partnership to offer big boat sailing experiences for TACS adult members on Grand Traverse Bay.

Individuals 18 years or older who have participated in the TACS Learn to Sail program will have access to Bay Breezes’ keelboats to skipper from its headquarters on West Grand Traverse Bay.

Bay Breeze is reserving three keelboats 19-25 feet with outboard motors for the program. Participants will be required to pass a check ride conducted by a Bay Breeze instructor to skipper a boat in the fleet.

Adults who completed the TACS Learn To Sail classes and current members of TACS season pass membership are eligible to participate in the keelboat program.

Individuals can reserve a keelboat by contacting Bay Breeze Boat Club at 941-0535.
