31 area soccer players make all-state

Six are first-team All-State picks

TRAVERSE CITY -- Three out of the area's six first-team All-State selections hail from Division 2 runner-up Petoskey.

Defender Dan Etter, forward Joe Keedy and midfielder Mike Swabash led the Northmen, who had five players selected to the various teams.

Goalie Brad Lehky was a second-team choice while Dominic Fantozzi was honorable mention.

Traverse City Christian's Jason Send and Charlevoix forward Ben Myers were first-team picks in Division 3, while Suttons Bay midfielder Danny Holmes was first-team in Division 4.

Three other area players were second-team selections -- all in Division 4. They included Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian's Paul Chatfield, Suttons Bay forward Ryan Manning and McBain Northern Michigan Christian defender Peter Brouwer.

Charlevoix defender John Shea and Elk Rapids midfielder Tucker Hogarth made the Division 3 third-team, while Harbor Light forward Ben Cole was selected in Division 4.

Division 2: Nate Johnson, Cadillac

Division 3: Brenden Baic, Boyne City; Nick Brandi, Charlevoix; Connor Dittrich, Elk Rapids; Colin Hamlin, Grayling

Division 4: Aaron Chatfield, Burt Lake NMCA; Will Lovitt, Burt Lake NMCA; Justin Jensen, Forest Area; Ryder Lewis, Glen Lake; Andrew Fila, Harbor Light; Justin Maleski, Leland; Michael Perry, McBain NMC; Jason Tropf, Northport; Evan Glowicki, Suttons Bay; Conor Ott, Suttons Bay; Jared Orban, Suttons Bay
