ELK RAPIDS -- Derek Sentieri scored two late touchdowns Friday to lead host Elk Rapids to a 52-38 Lake Michigan Conference win over Grayling.
The Elks (5-0, 3-0 LMC) led 39-38 before Sentieri's two late scores.
Sentieri ran 13 times for 83 yards and three TDs, while also going 7-for-9 through the air for 154 yards and two scores. Tyler Smith ran 19 times for 193 yards while Alex Bathke ran 13 times for 100 yards.
Charlie Hoch hauled in five receptions for 99 yards for the Elks.
Grayling (3-2, 1-2) returned receiver Eric Ferrigan to the lineup after the senior tore his MCL on the first day of contact. He had seven receptions for 221 yards and four touchdowns.
Trent Larm also had a 26-yard touchdown catch for Grayling.
Vikings quarterback Jimmy Osga was 31-for-50 passing for a school record 428 yards and five TDs. He broke his former record of 348 yards and already has the season record of 1,580 halfway through the year.
Geo Bindschatel had 14 tackles for Grayling. Bathke and Jeff Huron each had interceptions for Elk Rapids.
LAKE MICHIGAN
Charlevoix 20
East Jordan 15
Charlevoix held off a late East Jordan rally Friday for a 20-15 Lake Michigan Conference win.
The Rayders (3-2, 2-1 LMC) knocked down a pass in the end zone with no time remaining when the Red Devils took a shot from inside the Charlevoix red zone.
Clayton Mitchell had two rushing touchdowns for the Rayders and also threw a 13-yard score to John Putman. Defensively, Brandon Darrahhad eight tackles while Brock Yenglin had an interception.
Charlevoix gave up a safety when a snap went out of the end zone on a punt attempt. East Jordan also blocked a punt for a score.
NORTHWEST
Frankfort 14
Suttons Bay 0
Frankfort held Suttons Bay to 95 yards in total offense and spoiled homecoming for the Norsemen with 14-0 victory.
Kyle Brouillet had a 6-yard touchdown and Wade Luxford a 1-yard scoring scamper for Frankfort (4-1, 3-0 Northwest).
Max Banktson had nine tackles and Chris Tondu eight for Frankfort. Luxford added an interception.
"Our defense just played incredible," said Frankfort coach Matt Stapleton, whose team plays at Kingsley next week in a league showdown. "Suttons Bay has a great team and they're very explosive.
"Penalties were key tonight for both teams. I'm just real excited and proud of our kids. Any time you can shut out Suttons Bay, it's a great feat."
Suttons Bay (2-3, 1-2) had a 60-yard touchdown pass called back by a penalty.
Pete Bumgardner and Gabe Gallagher had 11 tackles while Blake Ibbotson and Kienan Sutton had nine.
Kingsley 49
Glen Lake 0
Kingsley scored three times in the first quarter and never looked back for a 49-0 win at Glen Lake.
The Stags (4-1) stayed unbeaten in the Northwest Conference at 3-0 and will have a first-place home showdown next week against Frankfort.
Maurice Sims had three rushing touchdowns for Kingsley while running 10 times for 100 yards. Justin Mueller had three carries for 87 yards and also scored twice.
Josh Nix was 8-for-14 passing for 120 yards with a touchdown pass and another one rushing. Defensively, Kirk Turner had 13 solo tackles and four sacks while Dustin Ankerson had 12 solo tackles.
Glen Lake's Joey Czapek ran 21 times for 82 yards while John Bunek had 10 tackles.
Mesick 35
Benzie Central 0
Curtis Brown ran for 137 yards and three touchdowns as Mesick won its first game of the season, shutting out Benzie Central, 35-0.
Brown scored on a pair of 1-yard runs and a 70-yard scamper for the Bulldogs (1-4, 1-2 Northwest). Jeff Harnish added a 17-yard touchdown run and Ben Brown hit Cody Simerson with a 95-yard TD pass.
Jon Flintoff had 13 tackles a sack and a fumble recovery for Mesick. Simerson added 11 tackles and Curtis Brown eight tackles and three sacks.
Sean Koykendal had 107 receiving yards for Benzie (0-5, 0-3). Robert Atkins, Mark Michalek (interception) and Zach Gray had six tackles.
SKI VALLEY
Central Lake 20
Gaylord St. Mary 8
Central Lake moved to 4-0 in the Ski Valley Conference Friday with a 20-8 win over Gaylord St. Mary.
Jared Danbert had 87 yards rushing with a score for the Trojans (5-0). He also returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown.
Travis Rogers ran for 50 yards and a touchdown while Nolan Howes had 67 yards rushing.
Defensively, Rogers had 15 tackles, a sack and a blocked punt while Howes had 14 tackles. Nate Peterson and Jared Steenwyk each had interceptions.
Forest Area 46
Onaway 0
A.J. Freeman and Justin Gordon combined for 388 yards and three touchdowns as Forest Area blanked Onaway, 46-0.
Freeman ran for 174 yards on 10 carries with touchdown runs of 64 and 38 yards. Gordon added 214 yards on 14 attempts, including a 69-yard scoring scamper.
Tyler Denike added 122 yards on six carries and a 54-yard TD run for the Warriors (4-1). John Gruen added a 6-yard touchdown run and Bon Born a 3-yard scoring run.
Collin Park had three quarterback sacks and nine solo tackles while brother Matt added two sacks and seven solo stops.
Mancelona 53

Kodi Balhorn and Tyler Hartzell each ran for two touchdowns as Mancelona rolled to a 53-8 victory over Pellston.
Balhorn finished with 188 yards on 11 carries while Hartzell added 100 on 13 for Mancelona (3-2, 3-1 Ski Valley). Hartzell scored on runs of 3 and 15 yards while Balhorn found the end zone from 11 and 21 yards away.
Trenton Sweet also scored twice for the Ironmen, on a 50-yard run and a 9-yard touchdown pass from Greg Blanco.
Michael Dalton added a 3-yard touchdown run and Nick Boucard a 1-yard scoring plunge.
Michael Churchill and Dalton had seven tackles and Sweet added an interception. Brooks Weston blocked a punt for Mancelona.
Johannesburg 38
Bellaire 0
Johannesburg-Lewiston shut out Bellaire, 38-0, in a Ski Valley Conference tilt.
Steve Apfel had 15 tackles and Nick Steiner 13 for Bellaire (1-4, 1-3 SVC).

Mike Suter had two touchdowns runs as Petoskey topped Cheboygan 21-12 in a showdown of undefeated teams.
D.J. VanSlembrouck had the first touchdown run for the Northmen (5-0). Grant Reed kicked all three extra points.
Manton 14
Oscoda 6
Manton used a pair of first-half touchdowns and a strong defensive effort without three starters to down Oscoda, 14-6.
Darren Morris scored on a 35-yard run in the first quarter and Ben Denomme hit Cody Emery with a 10-yard scoring strike just before halftime. Emery kicked both extra points for the Rangers (3-2).
Corey Webb, Kody Weinrick and Kyle Schwab had eight tackles for Manton, which hosts Lake City next week.
