Soccer Roundup: Sabres topple Northport

Jason Send had two goals and an assist to lead Traverse City Christian to a 5-1 win over Northport.

Also scoring goals for the Sabres (2-2, 1-1 Northwest) were McKenzie Domine, Peter Mustard and Jonathan Wheatley.

Additional assists went to Domine and Brian Wierenga.

David Gallagher started in goal for Christian before leaving because of an injury at the end of the first half. Jonathon Rudolph didn't allow a goal in the second half.

Northport got its lone goal from Quenton Buss on an assist from Max Raphael.

Suttons Bay 4
Buckley 0

Suttons Bay scored 1:22 into the contest and never looked back to blank Buckley 4-0 in a Northwest Conference clash.

Evan Glowicki had the first goal for the Norse (5-1, 3-0 NWC) on an assist from Justin Dalzell. Dalzell had the final goal for Suttons Bay on an assist from Glowicki.

Mason Darling and Shane MacDonald had the other two goals for the Norse on assists from Danny Holmes and Conor Ott, respectively.

Jared Orban made five saves in net for Suttons Bay.

Glen Lake 2
Leland 1

Luke Wichtoski's goal with 9:23 remaining lifted Glen Lake to a 2-1 Northwest Conference win over Leland.

Dustin Baker assisted on the goal.

Zach Hawkins had given Glen Lake (4-0, 8-0) the lead a minute into the game when he scored off an assist from Zach Gordon.

Leland tied it later in the first half.

Ryan Black had five saves in goal for the Lakers.

Roscommon 5
Forest Area 3

Roscommon scored twice in the final 18 minutes to break a 3-3 tie en route to a 5-3 Northern Michigan Soccer League victory over Forest Area.

Nate Snyder had two goals and Mitch Core two assists for Forest Area (5-2, 4-2 NMSL). Cullen Lane added a goal and Marco Martinez an assist.

Elk Rapids 8
East Jordan 0

John Greiner scored three goals and assisted on a fourth as Elk Rapids posted an 8-0 Lake Michigan Conference win over East Jordan.

Trevor Chase added two goals for the Elks (4-2 overall) while Bernardo Salomon, Chance Dittrich and Sean Pappas contributed one goal apiece. Pappas and Andy Tezak also chipped in two assists.
