Central golfer selected to Atlas Cup team

OKEMOS -- Traverse City Central's Chelsea Guoynes has been selected to play in the Golf Association of Michigan's Atlas Cup as one of the top 12 public course players in the state.

Guoynes will battle the private course team in the two-day event Sept. 13-14 at College Fields in Okemos. The format for the two-day event will resemble the Solheim Cup.

The public team will be defending its title after beating the private squad 10.5-7.5 last year.
