Soccer Roundup: Elks blank Harbor Springs

Derek Johnson netted two goals Thursday as Elk Rapids blanked Harbor Springs 4-0 in a Lake Michigan Conference soccer match.

Greg Manning and Sean Pappas also tallied for the Elks (3-0, 3-2). Chanse Dittrich added two assists and John Greiner one.

Burt Lake NMC 1

Gladwin scored off two corner kicks early in the first half and then held on for a 2-1 win over Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian in a Northern Michigan Soccer League game.

Burt Lake's (2-2, 3-2) goal came from Paul Chatfield off Aaron Chatfield's assist.

East Jordan 1

Kalkaska raced to a 4-0 lead at half en route to a 5-1 win over East Jordan.

Peter Lunde netted three goals for the Blazers. Tylor O'Neil and Mason Mosses added solo goals.

Elk Rapids JV 0

Brandon Busuttil and Matt Westerman each had two goals and an assist as the Traverse City Central JV beat the Elk Rapids JV 6-0.

Nick Armour and Gabe Morcote each added a gol and an assist.
