Titan tennis takes Shoreline Invitational

MUSKEGON -- Traverse City West won its second tennis tournament of the season Friday by taking the Shoreline Invitational at Muskegon Reeths-Puffer.

The Titans notched 20 points for first, followed by Greenville with 17 and DeWitt with 15 in the eight-team event.

West had four flight winners, all in doubles.

Andrew Greenman and Zach Hughey beat DeWitt's top team 6-4, 6-4 in the finals while Carter Jones and Jacob Nestor took the second flight with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Berrien Springs.

At No. 3 doubles, Trevor Tooley and Luke Hessler had a 6-2, 6-0 win over Reeths-Puffer while Nick Tooley and Joel Collins teamed for a 6-4, 6-1 win over Greenville.

West's Nathan Feenstra was runner-up in the No. 1 singles flight after a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Greenville's top player in the finals.
