May 17, 2008 08:48 am Phothivath Phengkhamkip won the 100 meters (11.89) and long jump (19'11") Tuesday to lead Traverse City Central to a 104-64 Big North Conference dual meet win over Traverse City West. Both teams rested most of their top athletes in anticipation of Friday's Division I regional at Saginaw Heritage. Phengkhamkip also teamed with Sean Fabian, Reilly Brady and Merrick Lacey to capture the 800 relay (1:37.41). Other winners were: HIGH JUMP -- Lerone Howard (TCW) 5'4"; SHOT PUT -- Max Walker (TCC) 41'9"; DISCUS -- Nick Krajenka (TCC) 120'2"; POLE VAULT -- Derek Ray (TCC) 11'6"; 3200 RELAY -- TCC (Evan Cover, Tyler Kelly, James Padden, Kurt Brown) 9:03.89; 110 HURDLES -- Spencer Potter (TCC) 16.70; 1600 -- Miles Ullenbruch (TCW) 4:51.51; 400 RELAY -- TCW (Jacob Russell, Max Hughes, Evan Spalding, Anthony West) 47.36; 400 -- Sean Fabian (TCC) 54.46; 300 HURDLES -- Gunnar Brammer (TCW) 44.40; 800 -- Gwinn Lord (TCC) 2:12.05; 200 -- Mike Latham (TCC) 24.39; 3200 -- Alex Goldsmith (TCW) 11:01.51*; 1600 RELAY -- TCW (Alex Brown, Ian Butler, Jordan Houteman, Gunnar Brammer). GIRLS TRACK Pohlman, Bower post two wins apiece Traverse City West's Kara Pohlman and Traverse City Central's Kortney Bower were double-winners in a Big North Conference dual meet. No team score was kept as coaches rested or limited their top athletes in preparation for Friday's Division I regional. Pohlman took the 100 hurdles (17.29) and 200 meters (29.14). Teammate Margeaux Raymond claimed the 400 (1:00.51) -- the third fastest time in school history. Bower paced the Trojans, winning the shot put (36'5") and discus (108'101/2"). Other winners were: LONG JUMP -- Emily Grof (TCC) 15'6"; HIGH JUMP -- Katie Fallick (TCC) 4'9"; POLE VAULT -- Breanna Greenland (TCW) 8'6"; 3200 RELAY -- TCC (Katie Perkins, Charnele Lyons, Alison Ostema, Taylor Mattarella) 10:21.83; 100 -- Katie Darling (TCC) 14.58; 800 RELAY -- TCW (Dani Brzezinski, Karen Scott, Margaux Lancaster, Gina Taylor) 2:01.57; 1600 -- Taylor Mattarella (TCC) 5:31.87; 400 RELAY -- TCW (Anya Dodge, Carlene Baker, Jessia Williams, Sarah Roper) 56.81; 300 HURDLES -- Ruth Hines (TCW) 55.58; 800 -- Elise Carolan (TCW) 2:25.74; 3200 -- Colleen Cronin (TCW) 13:39.62; 1600 RELAY -- TCW (Dani Brzezinski, Ruth Hines, Margaux Lancaster, Ashley, Hooper) 4:54.19.
Because of a coach's error, Alex Goldsmith was incorrectly identified in results from Tuesday's track meet between Traverse City West and Traverse City Central. Goldsmith won the 3200 meters.
