BUCKLEY -- Traverse City Christian fought back from a 20-3 deficit Monday for a 32-23 non-conference win over host Buckley.
The Sabres (6-5) cut the lead to 20-12 at the break before taking a 23-22 lead into the final quarter.
"(We) quit giving up threes," TC Christian coach Tom Finney said. "Fifteen of their 20 points were threes in the first half. We took away the 3-pointer, that ended it."
Mary Raetz paced the Sabres' offense with 19 points and six steals while Jenna Finney had five points, seven rebounds and five assists. Joni Yahr and Lindsay Kostrzewa each pulled down eight rebounds.
Haley Baldinger had six points for Buckley.

Gaylord 36
After both teams struggled out of the gates, Charlevoix put on a strong showing in the third quarter for a 52-36 win over Gaylord.
The Rayders (6-2) led 19-12 at the break before senior Tammy Potter scored eight quick points to make it 27-12.
Potter finished with 10 points and six rebounds while Erica Faust had eight points and Taylor Storm added seven points.
Brittney Deerfield had 16 points for Gaylord.
Gaylord St. Mary 61
Vanderbilt 26
Gaylord St. Mary moved to 4-3 with a 61-26 non-conference victory over Vanderbilt.
The Snowbirds built an 18-6 lead in the first quarter and led 32-14 at the break.
Jessica Schmidlin and Lauren Reppuhn each had 12 points for St. Mary while Ashlynn Soto scored eight points for Vanderbilt.

Elk Rapids freshmen 10
Traverse City Central had two players in double digits for a 34-10 win over Elk Rapids.
Olivia DeBortoli had 12 points for the Trojans (5-3) while Katherine Lyon had 10 points. Jenny Serrell also had nine steals.

Grand Rapids Central 44
Traverse City West built a 37-20 lead at the half and rolled to a 63-44 non-conference win at Grand Rapids Central.
The Titans (5-2) were led by 22 points and four rebounds from Mike Rosenberg while Greg Forrester had eight points, nine rebounds and three steals. Nate Feenstra had eight points and seven rebounds, John Purdy scored six points and Evan Schultz had five assists.
In the JV game, TC West improved to 6-1 with a 69-37 win.
Jake Fisher had 13 points for the Titans, Luke Hessler and Graeme Placek each scored 11 and Jack Flynn added 10 points.

Onekama held on for a 60-58 Western Michigan D League win over Manistee Catholic Central.
The Portagers were led by 20 points from Hunter Slade while Ryan Miller added 17 points.
The Sabers had 18 points from Jordan Janowiak while Nick Doyle added nine points.

Elk Rapids freshmen 44
Traverse City Central moved to 6-0 with a 51-44 win over Elk Rapids.
Ryan Verschuren paced the Trojans with 11 points while Doug Shomin had 18 points for Elk Rapids and Brandan Walker added 13.
