A positive revision
My life has recently taken a turn toward real happiness due to a simple change that I have wanted to make for a long time. I finally got rid of cable TV. My TV viewing is now down to a single DVD each evening. And because I’m not being hammered by TV ads and the depressing news, my hours are now filled with more reading, more cooking, more catching up with friends, more walking, more music … you know, all the good stuff. My new attitude has me dancing in the kitchen.
I’m amazed and grateful that I finally made a positive revision in my life.
What a legislature
What a great legislature we have in Michigan. If a group does something within the law that the legislators don’t like, they just pass another law to prevent it.
Their excuse for passing the “Right to Work” law was that the voters obviously voted against the unions when they voted against Proposal 2. However, the voters also voted against the emergency manager proposal; but the Legislature, in their infinite wisdom, decided to ignore the voters’ wishes and passed an emergency manager law. Go figure.
The Republicans also think they can defy federal law as applies to gun laws. I think the battle for states’ rights was fought during the Civil War, and look how that turned out.
Also, if Republicans in Michigan can’t win an election, they will try to change the rules so they can win.
If the voters don’t run these dictators out of office, they get what they deserve. Trouble is, the rest of us have to live with it, too.
