TRAVERSE CITY — The Ideas for Life Senior Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center.

The carnival will be held at the church, 6105 Center Road, and the public is invited.

EMPIRE — Empire United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale on Saturday, May 18.

Remember loved ones
TRAVERSE CITY — To recognize May as the “Month of Remembering,” Michael’s Place will hold a Spring River Memorial on Monday, May 20, as a way for grieving youth and adults to remember loved ones who have died.
The event will start at 6 p.m. at Hannah Lay Park on the Boardman River near the History Center of Traverse City, 322 Sixth St. Participants can write messages on the “Grieffiti” Wall and at 6:30 p.m. release flowers into the river. Participants also will be able to place personal written messages in a fire and watch the flames carry the messages into the air.
