- Traverse City Area Public Schools announced the students selected as 2013 Music Booster and Departmental Scholarship recipients. TC East Middle School students are: Carly Burns, eighth grade flute, Music Booster Alternate; Jack Capper, sixth grade percussion, Music Booster Scholarship; Jenna Elsenheimer, seventh grade soprano, Music Booster Alternate; Lena Gerstle, seventh grade flute, Music Booster Alternate; Madison Partak, eighth grade flute, Music Booster Alternate; Elliot Smith, seventh grade trombone, Music Booster Scholarship; Abe Stone, seventh grade tenor, Music Booster Scholarship. TC West Middle School students are: Sarah Dant, seventh grade violin, Music Booster Scholarship; Madison Hertel, seventh grade soprano, Music Booster Scholarship; Julia O’Mara, seventh grade alto, Music Booster Alternate; Brooke Ostrowski, seventh grade clarinet, Morris Scholarship; Hayden Talbot, eighth grade tuba, Music Booster Scholarship. TC Central High School students are: Ellis Begley, 11th grade violin, Jessica Rogers Memorial Scholarship; Fischer Diede, 11th grade bass, Music Booster Alternate; Abbey Green, ninth grade violin, Music Booster Scholarship; Emily Jenkins, ninth grade mezzo-soprano, Music Booster Scholarship; Marie Laird, 11th grade soprano, Mel Larimer Memorial; Ivan Suminski, 11th grade violin, Karen T’Kindy Memorial; Nicholas Suminski, 10th grade piano, Music Booster Scholarship. TC West Senior High School students are: Nick Hirshenberger, ninth grade percussion, Reggie Box Scholarship; Maddie Holm, ninth grade violin, Music Booster Alternate; Bridget Keene, 11th grade violin, Morse & Hahnenberg Moving & Storage Annual Scholarship; David Mather, 10th grade baritone, Music Booster Alternate; Annika White, 11th grade alto, Elsie Mannor Randall Scholarship; Annalisa Wiesner, 10th grade soprano, Music Booster Scholarship.

- Seven TCAPS schools have achieved the Michigan Green Schools designation, by earning 10 or more out of a possible 20 points, based on the program criteria: Eastern Elementary School, 20 points, Evergreen Status; Silver Lake Elementary School, 15 points, Emerald Status; TCAPS Montessori at Glenn Loomis, 17 points, Emerald Status; TC Central High School, 16 points, Emerald Status; TC West Middle School, 20 points, Evergreen Status; TC West Senior High School, 20 points, Evergreen Status; Willow Hill Elementary School, 20 points, Evergreen status.
