Burt Lake NMCA's season came to a close with a 3-2 loss to Lincoln-Alcona in the Division 4 district finale.

Lincoln-Alcona scored the game-winner with 6 minutes left in the match.

"They were the better team tonight," Burt Lake NMCA coach Lee Chatfield said. "The wet field didn't help us. We knew they were a fast team and they used the wet field to their advantage."

Chatfield finished his career with 201 goals, which ranks him fourth nationally. He surpassed the Michigan record by 29 goals.

"We watched them play Glen Lake in the semis and we knew they had a couple of players we had to watch, and then play our game up top," Leland coach Joe Burda said. "It worked. This was great for our seniors. We haven't been here in awhile."

Dylan Jolliffe scored four goals with one assist for the Comets (23-3) while Luke Nesbitt had three goals and two assists. Matt Fleis had a goal and an assist while Will Saffell scored the final goal with 4:30 left in the match from 30 yards out.
