Brian Reicha benefit

ACME — A benefit dinner and silent auction for Brian “Bear” Reicha will be held today, April 13, at the Masonic Lodge, 6010 Maple St. Reicha suffered extensive injuries in an auto accident on Jan. 25 and does not have health insurance.

The benefit will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults; free for children 12 and younger. All proceeds will go directly to Reicha. For details or to make a donation, contact Tracey Stites, (989) 217-0320 or tmstites72@yahoo.com.

Youth-led services

LELAND — The youth group will lead both the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday, April 14, at Leland United Methodist Church, 106 N. Fourth St.

High school sophomore Joel Sneed will give the sermon titled “Who Is Your God.” Music will be provided by Hunter Bell and Luke Speicher and other members of the group will give biblical readings and serve as ushers and greeters. A coffee hour will be hosted at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome. For details, call 256-9161.

U2charist

TRAVERSE CITY — NeXus at the Presbyterian Church will host its sixth annual U2charist on Sunday, April 14.

The worship features the humanitarian songs of U2 and Bono. It will start at 11 a.m. in the Westminster Room at the church, 701 Westminster Road. A freewill offering will be shared with the Traverse Bay Poverty Reduction Initiative and Presbyterian Church/USA’s international AIDS-HIV education and outreach initiatives. Easter study

TRAVERSE CITY — An Easter study class titled “Rule of Life, Rule of Benedict” is under way at Grace Episcopal Church.

The class meets Wednesdays, through May 15, at the church, 341 Washington St. A brown bag dinner at 6 p.m. will be followed by study at 6:30 p.m. Child care is available on request; call 947-2330 at least one day before class.

Harp class

TRAVERSE CITY — Marilyn Wares will introduce the tranquility lap harp in a class on Sunday, April 21.
