Play auditions

Manistee — Manistee Civic Players will hold auditions for their production of “9 to 5: The Musical” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, and at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the Ramsdell Theatre, 101 Maple St. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script and learn a group song to sing.

Performances are set for March 8-9 and 15-16 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. March 10 and 17.

Financial Peace U

Traverse City — Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University will be offered at three locations in Traverse City. FPU uses common sense principles and small-group accountability to help people succeed financially.

The nine-week course will start Sunday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St.; 946-2720 for details or registration; and also at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St.; call 947-2330 for details or to register.

A third class will start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St. Call 946-5191 to learn more or to register.

Autism book signing

Traverse City — Marvin Anderson will sign copies of his book “Autism Prevention Care & Management” Saturday, Jan. 12, at Horizon Books.

Anderson is a physician with 10 years experience caring for children with autism. His book summarizes the problem and solution to autism. He will be at the book store, 243 E. Front St., from 2 to 4 p.m.

Bridge classes

Traverse City — The Senior Center Network will hold beginner and intermediate bridge classes for adults 50 and older starting Monday, Jan. 7.

Classes will be held six Mondays at the Traverse City location, 801 E. Front St. Beginners will meet from noon to 2:30 p.m. The intermediate class is from 2:30 to 5 p.m. The charge is $20 for network members; $25 for non-members. Students must also purchase a manual for $5 from the instructor.
