Body and Soul Newsmakers 11/16/2013

Christine Stalsonburg and Karmin Philp, both agents at Cherry Wings Realty, will serve on the board of directors of the Ryan Patrick Kennedy House, a PTSD Wellness Center dedicated to individuals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to be located in Traverse City.


Teachers and staff members from St. Mary School Lake Leelanau recently joined 350 other Diocese of Gaylord school and parish personnel at a Diocesan-wide conference in Gaylord.

Participants joined a morning session titled “The Joy of Teaching in a Catholic School” presented by Dr. Saundra Kennedy. In the afternoon, they discussed the teachings of Pope John Paul II on the “Theology of the Body” with Damon Owens. Participants also gathered in the conference center to expand on seven different themes found in Catholic education: Life and Dignity of the Human Person, Call to Family, Community & Participation: Rights and Responsibilities, Options for the Poor & Vulnerable, Dignity of Work, Solidarity in Christ’s Mission, and Care for God’s Creations.


Adrian Seah, MD, has joined the staff of Munson Medical Center as a specialist in general surgery.

Dr. Seah graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing and completed a residency at the University of Vermont-Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.

He practices at Surgical Associations of Traverse City, 1221 Sixth St., suite 306. Dr. Seah is accepting new patients. His office can be reached at 935-2400.
