Health care workshop
KALKASKA — The Kalkaska County Library will host an Affordable Care Act workshop on Wednesday.
Jen Hanson, regional lead and certified navigator from District Health Department #10, will explain and answer questions regarding the Affordable Care Act starting at noon at the library, 247 S. Cedar St. The program is free and open to the public. For details, call the library, 258-9411.
TRAVERSE CITY — A lupus support group meets from 6:30-8 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Munson Community Health Center, 550 Munson Ave., in conference rooms A & B, to discuss the latest lupus information and share experiences. The next meeting is Wednesday.

TRAVERSE CITY — First Congregational Church, 6105 Center Road, will offer a new, 13-week session of DivorceCare, a video seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced.
Sessions meet from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 21-Feb. 20, except for Thanksgiving Day. A $15 donation covers materials and child care is available when planned in advance. Donations for child care are welcome.

Crafts and pie
TRAVERSE CITY — Christmas crafts and homemade pies will be featured at the second annual Crafts and Pie Sale at Traverse Bay United Methodist Church, 1200 Ramsdell Road.
The event will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 23. Homemade pumpkin pies are $10 each; apple pies $12 each. There also will be handmade wreaths, baked goods, attic treasures and more. The sale is sponsored by the United Methodist Women.
TRAVERSE CITY — Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse that collects gift-filled shoeboxes and delivers them to needy children around the world, is ramping up its efforts during National Collection Week, Monday through Nov. 25. Four Traverse City area locations will serve as collection sites for these shoebox gifts.
