TRAVERSE CITY — The Ave Maria University’s Northern Michigan Founders Club dinner will be hosted Thursday. 8. Reservations are required by Tuesday
The evening will start with registration at 5:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Second St., followed at 6 p.m. by Mass, dinner and presentations. The theme is “Christ Crucified-The Redemptive Journey.”

TRAVERSE CITY — Instructor Tina Livingston will lead gentle yoga classes at 9 a.m. Wednesdays in August at the Peninsula Community Library, 2699 Island View Road.

Running 4 Babies
TRAVERSE CITY — Registration is open for the third annual Running 4 Babies.
The 5K course on Aug. 17 will take runners and walkers around the hilly terrain of trails near the Grand Traverse Commons. A Kids’ Fun Run also is planned.
Dubbed “Lauren and Theresa’s Run,” the fundraiser was started by the O’Connor and Frechette families who lost babies during childbirth. They identified Munson’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as the beneficiary of the race, with hopes that more babies will survive difficult births. The 2012 race raised more than $11,000.

CADILLAC — Crown of Life Lutheran Church will sponsor “Share the Hope,” a free community benefit concert for Meals on Wheels and OASIS/Family Resource Center.
The concert opens at 3 p.m. Aug. 18, at the Rotary Arts Pavilion on the shores of Lake Cadillac. It will feature the Christian acoustic/pop/rock music of Mike Westendorf of Milwaukee, Wis. Following the performance, Crown of Life will provide a picnic-style lunch.

GAYLORD — The Muscular Dystrophy Association in conjunction with Zips 45th Parallel Harley-Davidson will sponsor the MDA Ride 4 the Cure on Aug. 24.
The escorted ride begins and ends at Zips and is about 100 miles long. Following the ride there will be a pig roast, live music, live and silent auctions and more. Registration is $30 per rider; $40 with a passenger. For details or to register, call the MDA office, (989) 771-9612.
Day of Caring
TRAVERSE CITY — The United Way of Northwest Michigan’s 18th annual Day of Caring is Sept. 12.
The day starts with a pancake breakfast for registered volunteer teams who have signed up to do a day of service in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska or Leelanau counties.
