---- — Humanists meeting

TRAVERSE CITY — Rabbi Chava Bahle will be the guest speaker at the Monday, March 11, meeting of the Grand Traverse Humanists.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the History Center of Traverse City, 322 Sixth St. Bahle’s topic is “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know from a Rabbi But Were Afraid to Ask.” The program is free and open to the public. Call 392-1215 to learn more.

Dual Recovery

TRAVERSE CITY — Dual Recovery Anonymous will celebrate its third anniversary on Monday, March 11.

Dual Recovery Anonymous is an independent organization based on the 12 steps and traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. The group’s goal is to help members recover from addictions combined with co-occuring mental health issues. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday in room 305 at Central United Methodist Church.

An anniversary potluck dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St. Set-up starts at 5 p.m. Barbecue sandwiches will be provided. To learn more, call 392-6355 or 392-5861.

Stroke club meets

TRAVERSE CITY — Strategies for meeting needs when a caregiver becomes unavailable will be discussed at the Wednesday, March 13, meeting of the Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club.

Members will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster. Participants will formulate a back-up plan considering who can help if their caregiver becomes unavailable. Friday fish dinner

TRAVERSE CITY — The Immaculate Conception Men’s Club is hosting fish dinners on Fridays during Lent.

The next dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 720 Second St. The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for students and free for children 5 and younger. Proceeds benefit the Mother’s Day Banquet and other parish needs.

Teen Bible study

TRAVERSE CITY — Eighth graders and their parents are invited to Eighth Grade Night at Grand Traverse Teen Community Bible Study. High school age students also are welcome.

Teen CBS is an interdenominational Bible study for ninth through 12th graders. No previous Bible knowledge is required.

Visitors will join the current class for dinner, worship and an informational session from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the Ministry Center at Faith Reformed Church, 1139 E. Front St. Students also will have a chance to register for the 2013-14 class. Lupus support group

TRAVERSE CITY — A Michigan Lupus Foundation support group is planned for Wednesday, March 20.
