Michael Sullivan, LMSW, of Traverse City, recently provided an in-service to the El Paso County Court System in El Paso, Texas. He also was the main speaker for the fifth annual Conference of the Center for the Study of Natural Systems and the Family (CSNSF) Border Programs, also in El Paso.

The in-service examined the emotional inter-relationship between court systems and the families they serve. It was attended by district court judges, associate family court judges and court-appointed special advocates.

Sullivan gave a presentation titled “Building Responsible Community: The Power of the Individual” at the CSNSF conference. He used systems thinking and Bowen theory to show the importance of each person’s contribution to a community that best serves families and youth.
