Gospel fest

KALKASKA — Local talent will be in the spotlight at a Gospel Music Fest on Sunday, July 28.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kalkaska Senior Center gazebo, 303 S. Coral St. Donations will be accepted and proceeds benefit the elevator fund at the Peoples Church in Kalkaska. There also will be food and a raffle.

Acupuncture talk

TRAVERSE CITY — Acupuncturist Jeff Campbell from Shoreline Center for Healing will give a program on acupuncture on Wednesday, July 31.

Campbell will talk about the history and benefits of acupuncture, including recent research into the benefits, at 6:30 p.m. at the Shoreline office, 402 S. Union St. For details or to register for the free program, call 946-4235.

DivorceCare

TRAVERSE CITY — First Congregational Church will offer DivorceCare, a video recovery seminary and support group for people who are separated or divorced.

The series will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. for 13 Thursdays, Aug. 1-Oct. 17, at the church, 6105 Center Road. A $15 donation covers materials and child care is available when planned in advance. Donations for child care are welcome. For details or to arrange for child care, call 947-6698.

Walk for Seniors

CRYSTAL LAKE — Walkers, pledges and donations of time or resources are needed for the 33rd annual Walk for Seniors fundraiser.

The walk-a-thon on Saturday, Aug. 3, starts with registration from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Bellows Park on South Shore Dr. The six-mile walk will travel along the south shore of Crystal Lake and will be held rain or shine. Proceeds benefit Benzie Home Health Care.

Summer VBS

TRAVERSE CITY — Children from 3 years old through fifth grade are invited to Vacation Bible School at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1050 Peninsula Dr.

VBS will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9. The theme is “Go Tell It On The Mountain.” For details or registration, call 947-9880.
