BENZONIA — The Women’s Fellowship at the Benzonia Congregational Church is having an antique appraisal day today, June 15.
Don Butkovich, a nationally recognized antique appraiser, will appraise items from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church. Appointments are required; call 882-4358. The cost is $8 per person and proceeds support Women’s Fellowship projects.
Fundraiser is Sunday
ACME — Abby Tongue is one of 20 teens nationwide selected to distribute Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to the Philippines from July 20 through 27 and is raising money to cover her travel expenses.
Her family band, the Tongue Family Band, will perform at a benefit concert/dessert auction at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Feast of Victory Lutheran Church, 4400 Mount Hope Road. The concert will feature Irish step dancing and fireside bagpipes. All proceeds will help cover Abby’s travel expenses.
Fun Fair VBS
TRAVERSE CITY — “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City.
Children entering kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to participate from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, June 17-21, at the church, 701 Westminster Road. Activities include interactive Bible fun, music, science, crafts, global games and more. There is no charge.

Parade of Sr. Homes
TRAVERSE CITY — The Alliance for Senior Housing and the Traverse City Senior Center will host the second of three free Parade of Senior Homes bus tours on Friday, June 21.
The tours are designed to provide education on senior housing options in the greater Grand Traverse area. Each parade visits four different homes including both assisted and independent living. Participants also receive information on funding and VA benefits regarding housing.
The bus tour leaves from the Traverse City Senior Center at 9 a.m. and returns at 2 p.m. For details or to register, call 922-4911. Another tour is scheduled for Sept. 20.
Mom’s Night Out
PETOSKEY — The Post Adoption Resource Center will host a Mom’s Night Out.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 21, at La Senorita, 1285 N. U.S. 31. Moms must have finalized an adoption through the Michigan foster care system to attend.

Shortcake and cars
TRAVERSE CITY — The Cherry Blossom Ramblers from Traverse City will entertain during the Sunday, June 23, Strawberry Social & Classic Car Show at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
The fundraiser will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the Grand Lawn at the Pavilions, off South Elmwood Avenue. The Cherry Blossom Ramblers will perform from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. There also will be a showcase of more than 50 classic cars.
Strawberry shortcake is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and younger. Lemonade and bottled water will be available and Moomer’s strawberry and strawberry cheesecake ice cream will be sold.
