Pico gives concert

TRAVERSE CITY — Miriam Pico and her band will give a concert on Friday to benefit Family Partnership Mentoring Grand Traverse, a nonprofit the provides long-term mentoring for individuals struggling with resources.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 13 and younger. They are available at Central United Methodist Church, The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on South Union Street and at the door. Identity theft seminar

TRAVERSE CITY — The Senior Brigade and Attorney General Bill Schuette will lead a seminar geared toward senior citizens that focuses on electronic communication and security.

The seminar starts at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2, at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St. Topics include online safety, security measures, how to protect yourself, how identity theft happens and how to avoid it.

Evening Parkinson's

TRAVERSE CITY — The Evening Parkinson's Support Group on Nov. 5, will be a split session for caregivers and Parkinsonians.

The group will meet at 6 p.m. at Munson Community Health Center, 550 Munson Ave. Caregivers will meet in room G and Parkinsonians in the library. For details, call 263-0500 or 947-1946.

Concert benefits Love INC

WILLIAMSBURG — Tickets are on sale for "The Song is Love," a dinner concert fundraiser for Love INC of Grand Traverse.

The benefit will be held Nov. 9 at the Williamsburg Dinner Theater. Tickets are $30 for dinner and a performance by tribute group Peter, Paul & Mary Remembered. Advance tickets are required; call 941-5683.

Nursing presentation

TRAVERSE CITY — Dean Cynthia McCurren of the Kirkhof College of Nursing at Grand Valley State University will give a presentation titled "Transforming Health Care: Being Intentional About Your Nursing Education" twice in Traverse City.
