Frankfort knocks off undefeated Cedarville

Panthers hold Trojans 25 points under their average

FRANKFORT — Cedarville came into Frankfort with an undefeated record Friday.

It didn't leave with one.

The Panthers handed the Trojans a 65-49 defeat, holding Cedarville to a season-low scoring output in the process.

"It's one of the bigger wins we've had in Frankfort in some years," Panthers coach Reggie Manville said. "I'm proud of the young guys."

Sophomore David Loney led Frankfort (4-0, 2-0 Northwest Conference) with 18 points and 20 rebounds — with eight of those points coming in the fourth quarter as an eight-point lead expanded to 16.

Freshmen Cole Hollenbeck and Mason Loney played large chunks of the second half after two Frankfort starters fouled out in the third quarter. Prior to that, the Panthers led 36-18 at halftime.

Owen Stratton added 19 points.

Cedarville came into the game averaging 74.6 points a game, and was held below 50 for the first time all season. Frankfort also avoided allowing a team to break the 50-point mark for the first time, thanks in part to a 39-27 rebounding edge.
