Youth book drive
traverse city — The Grand Traverse Book Marathon, hosted by a group of local students and the Traverse Bay Twilight Rotary Club, will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17, at Books A Million.
Donations of new and used children's books and young adult literature are requested. Drop boxes will be available at Traverse Motors, Cherry Capital Cadillac, JP's Hard Luck Cafe Diner and Century 21 (State St.) through Nov. 17.
Bay Ridge club
traverse city — The Village at Bay Ridge Book Club will present author Stephen M. West and his book, "A Vicious Triangle Plus Two Other Michigan Stories," at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. Space is limited. A reservation with prepayment of $6 for lunch is required by Nov. 18.

Busch makes visit
traverse city — Benjamin Busch will make a National Writers Series appearance with guest host Doug Stanton on Nov. 8 as part of Busch's 50-state book tour for his new memoir, "Dust to Dust."

Saturn a favorite
gaylord — Saturn Booksellers will hold a day-long celebration to feature the new book, "My Bookstore: Writers Celebrate Their Favorite Places To Browse, Read and Shop," on Saturday, Nov. 17.
Well-known authors from across the country were invited to write about their favorite bookstores. Saturn Booksellers is among the 82 shops, one of only three in Michigan, chosen as a favorite.
