Eight nonprofit agencies from the Grand Traverse area received a total of $13,150 in grants from the Cherryland Cares program of Cherryland Electric Cooperative.
The grant funds are from Cherryland members who choose to “round up” their bills to the nearest dollar.
Recipients include: Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency, $4,000; Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center, $2,150; Women’s Resource Center Laundry Project, $2,000; Marilla Food Pantry, $1,500; Leelanau Christian Neighbors, $1,250; Child & Family Services, $1,000; Traverse Life Center, $750; and the Grand Travese Dyslexia Association, $500.
