Lenten services

TRAVERSE CITY — Lenten services continue on Wednesdays through April 16 at Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church.

Services start at 6 p.m. at the church, 16426 Center Road, and will be followed by a soup and bread supper at 6:30 p.m. For details, call 223-4393.

Wednesdays in Lent

TRAVERSE CITY — Bethlehem Lutheran Church is hosting soup and dessert dinners on Wednesdays during Lent.

The meal will be served at 6 p.m., 5:30 p.m. March 19, at the church, 1050 Peninsula Dr. Following the meal, children will meet from 6:45-7:30 p.m. to learn about Lent and complete a craft to take home. Adults will participate in a worship service.

Lenten lunch

TRAVERSE CITY — The public is invited to the third in a series of Lenten Luncheons sponsored by Church Women and Men United.

The soup, sandwich and dessert meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. March 20 at The Presbyterian Church, 701 Westminster, followed by music at noon. The Lenten reflection will be presented at 12:30 p.m. by Pastor Eileen Stulak of Unity Church. A $3 donation is suggested to support local missions. Those attending also are encouraged to bring signed Easter cards for local wounded veterans.

Relay for Life benefit

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Employees’ Relay for Life team will hold a fundraiser March 20.

From 5-8 p.m., 10 percent of all food sales at the Chum’s Corner Culvers location will be donated to the Relay for Life team to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Down Syndrome Association benefit

TRAVERSE CITY — In recognition of World Down Syndrome Day, residents at the Village at Bay Ridge will hold a bake sale and craft sale.

The sale will start at 9 a.m. March 21 with tables of sale items in both the East and West buildings, 3850 Scenic Ridge. Proceeds will benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Northwest Michigan. For details, call 932-9455.
